March 2016 Welcome to the PPM

"More holiness give me, more strivings within, more patience in suffering, more sorrow for sin, more faith in my Savior, more sense of his care, more joy in his service, more purpose in prayer." Hymn 131

Monday afternoon we were expecting 10 new missionaries to arrive when we got word that they had been delayed and were in Atlanta.  Elder Story was flying in from the MTC in Mexico since he is Spanish speaking and he arrived on time.  There was a tender mercy as the missionaries in Atlanta were standing there wondering what they should do and a stake president from who knows where walked up to them and started talking to them.  They told him that they had missed their flight to Pittsburgh due to mechanical problems on the plane but the airline had offered them one room in the hotel. That doesn't work too well for three sisters and six elders!  He said hey no problem I have a connection with Hilton hotel and I can get you some rooms.  He made arrangements for three rooms at a local Hilton Hotel for them!  Thank you to an anonymous angel!  The group arrived on Tuesday morning at 9 am.  We picked them up at the airport and took them over to the Greentree chapel for training and lunch and then sent them on their way with their trainers.

You are called to represent Jesus Christ in helping people become clean from their sins. You do this by inviting them to come unto Jesus Christ and become converted to His restored gospel. To come to the Savior they must have faith in Him unto repentance--making the necessary changes to bring their life into agreement with His teachings. You can help people develop such faith by teaching them the restored gospel by the Spirit and inviting them to commit to live according to its teachings. Keeping this commitment prepares them for the covenant of baptism and confirmation and the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. They are to put off the “natural man” and become a Saint “through the atonement of Christ the Lord” (Mosiah 3:19.           -Preach My Gospel
